Now everyone loses access to "old" Google Analytics

From July 1, 2024, you will no longer have access to the previous version of Google Analytics (GA3). All historical data will also be deleted, unless you take action.

Most Gasta customers have the Google Analytics tool installed on their website. It is free and provides useful insight into the use of the website.

Previously, the version Google Universal Analytics (GA3) was used, but in the summer of 2023 a new tool called Analytics 4 (GA4) was introduced . It is GA4 that you now have installed on your website if you use the analytics tool, as most Gasta customers do.

Until now, however, we have had access to the old version (GA3). This has enabled us to go back in time and look at historical data. Now this is changing.

From July 1, 2024, all of Universal Analytics (GA3) will be shut down. This means that both you and we will lose access, and that all analytics data stored there will be deleted.

For most people, this won't have much to say, simply because you don't actively use the history. But if you want to retain the history, data must be exported in good time before July 1. In that case, contact us and we'll look at solutions together.

Note that if you have a website in Squarespace, you will continue to receive figures and statistics in the analytics tool integrated into the website, called Squarespace Analytics. There will be no change from the way it is now.
