See your keywords with Google Search Console

SEO

With this tool linked to your Squarespace website, you can see what words people are searching for in Google to find you.

What is Search Console?

Google Search Console is a free tool from Google that you can connect to your website.

The tool has many useful features, but perhaps the most interesting is that you can see what keywords people are typing into Google to find your website.

In addition, you'll be able to see how far up the Google results list you are for each keyword and how many people click through to your website.

Why is this useful?

In short, the tool gives you insight into how your website performs in the Google search engine. What words do people use, and how high up do you rank on those words? What words are you doing well on today, and what can you improve on? Are there any important keywords that you are not visible on in general?

All of this information is fundamental to being able to work better with search engine optimization (SEO) on your website, so that you become more visible and accessible in Google.

Link between Squarespace and Search Console

Squarespace has its own function that allows you to display data from Search Console in the website system. This means you don't have to use your own system to view the search terms.

You can find the feature in Squarespace by going to "Analytics" and selecting "Search Keywords".

If you have not already connected to Search Console, you will see a black "Connect" button to connect.

Note: You must have already created an account in Google Search Console and verified your domain with Google before pressing "Connect" inside Squarespace.
