Do you have control over the meta texts on the website?
Take action and get people to click on your website when you appear in Google.
Metatext is a short text that describes what the website is about. It is this text that appears in search results or in previews of your website. Metatexts do not have a direct impact on visibility, but they are important for getting people to click through to your site.
Don't lose important readers
This means that if you get hits on a Google search, you need to make sure that the meta-text makes people want to click on your page. They tend to get more hits, and you can easily lose the battle for attention with a poor metatext.
How do you create good metatexts?
Think CTA
First and foremost - explain what the page is about. What will the reader find out if he or she clicks on the link? Finish with a call-to-action (CTA), for example "See how to get a good website".
Number of drawings?
There are different recommendations on how long the texts should be, but most recommendations say 50-60 or 30-40 characters in a meta title. The meta description itself should be between 135 and 160 characters. Longer texts are often given "..." to see the whole text. Therefore, the most important things must come first.
Hug all the undersides
In Squarespace, enter a main meta description under the tag SEO. In addition, you should add meta texts to your subpages. Or at least the subpages that are a separate menu item. You do this on the various pages, where you will find SEO under the cogwheel. They should have different texts and describe what you find on the individual page.
Use search terms
Even though the meta-text does not determine whether the website appears as a hit in a search, you must remember that the person who finds you as a hit will see that your page is about what they want to find the answer to.
