7 strategies for achieving results with digital advertising

How do you attract potential customers to your website and convert them into customers without spending a lot of money and time?

The secret is the use of digital advertising. With an understanding of how digital advertising works, you can gain greater control over the flow of traffic to your website and acquire more converting customers. I would go so far as to say that digital advertising is the most effective way to increase traffic to your website. Digital advertising is not only used as a short-term strategy to increase traffic, but is also a driver of organic traffic to the website. This is because the more traffic there is on your website, the higher the website will be ranked by Google - which in turn increases organic traffic. 

  1. Cupboard

    The message in the ad should be understandable and not least convincing. The benefits of the product should be clearly stated and a "Call To Action" should be communicated so that it is clear what action you want the consumer to take. If you want the potential customer to sign up for a newsletter, there should be a visible button for this in the ad.

    With many competitors in the market, it's important to stand out so that you get noticed by potential customers. The company's identity should be highlighted in the advertising through the use of logo and colors. It is also important that the content is varied in the campaign so that the audience does not get bored with the ads. In addition, it is important that the ad is designed so that the message comes across clearly. With a well-designed ad, you will immediately understand what the message is.

    To succeed with digital advertising, it is important to do good preparatory work in the form of analysis. It's important to have knowledge of the market and what opportunities and threats can affect the results for your company. Furthermore, you should know who your competitors are and what they are good at. What strategies do they use to reach out to potential customers? If you've done this preliminary work, it's easier to make good decisions in relation to advertising.

When you know who your target group is, it's easier to decide how you should communicate to reach the target group and, not least, what channel you should use to reach them.

    The most commonly used digital advertising channels are Google and Facebook. Here's a brief overview of the two platforms and where they should be used: 

    • Google: consumers use Google when looking for information. To drive traffic through Google, you bid on keywords that will help people find your business and can lead to conversions. You then compete with other businesses that advertise with the same keywords, where the business that has bid the highest gets the most favorable placement in Google, which is above the organic hits. You pay the amount you have bid every time people click on your ad. Since you only pay when people click on your ad, you don't have to worry about wasting money on exposing your ad to people who aren't interested in your product. Unlike search engine optimization, which takes time to build up, Google Ads generates traffic to your website right away.

    • Facebook: the platform is used to keep up to date with what's happening in the local social community. You browse through posts and photos published by friends and acquaintances. As a business, you pay for your ad to appear in the news feed of your defined target group. One of the advantages of Facebook is that you can set a limited budget and still expand your reach by reaching potential customers you wouldn't otherwise be able to reach.   6. Create a marketing strategy 

    It's important to set clear, quantifiable and, not least, realistic goals for your advertising. What do you want to achieve? What is the time frame? How big a budget do you want to spend? These questions are important to answer before we start advertising.

  7. Have a good landing page

    The landing page is the entrance to the website. Potential customers enter the landing page through digital ads, and the quality of the page determines whether the consumer stays or leaves the site.
