Search engine optimization tips: Create FAQ pages

SEO

A while ago, we created a FAQ page ("Frequently asked questions") with questions and answers we experience potential customers ask about Squarespace.

We put the page at the bottom of the "footer" menu and did not expect so many people to visit the page.

But it's interesting to see that Google picked this up quickly. When searching for "Squarespace FAQ", it's this page that comes up and it has very good traffic.

Why is it smart to create a FAQ page?

The main reason why you should have a good FAQ page is because it's probably good customer service to have one.
But it's also known that Google likes FAQ pages. And that's not so unnatural. Today, we write more advanced searches in Google, often as whole questions. If one of the questions in the FAQ matches a search query, there is reason to believe that your site will come up in such a search.

Such an FAQ page does not generate a huge amount of search traffic, but those who come to the FAQ page after making such a specific search are probably interested in your product or services.

How do you create an FAQ page?

You can make it easy. Set up an ordinary page and use a text block. The header of the page should be H1, the questions in H2, the answers in standard text. If you want the FAQ page to be a little more advanced, you can insert a Markdown block so that the answers appear when you click on the questions (accordion). Then you need a small java-script code that we can help you with. Get in touch - and we'll help you quickly!
