Squarespace + Google Search Console

As the first publishing tool on the market, Squarespace has launched a unique integration with Google Search Console.

With a quick keystroke in Squarespace, you can get an overview of which keywords are driving traffic to your site, and you can monitor their Google rank and how many people click through to your site after searching.

This works really well, and is great if you want to keep track of your keywords, but can't imagine going that deep into Google Search Console.

Activate website in Google Search Console

You must first activate your website in Google Search Console.

The Google Search Keyword Panel will then appear in Analytics in the main menu (see photo).

Keep an eye on four key figures

With this connection, you can constantly monitor and focus on four key figures or KPIs:

Clicks (Clicks)

This gives you the number of people who entered your website after searching for a given keyword.

Views (Impressions)

Shows those who saw a link to your website in their search results, even if they did not click on your link.

Click rate (Click Rate)

% of those who found your page in the search and clicked on the link to your page (Clicks/Views x 100)

Average Google position (Avg. Position)

This is the average position your website has for a given keyword in the specified time period. If you are in 4th place in a search, and 6th place if someone else searches, the average of 5 will be shown here (4+6/2)
