Google Analytics is legal after all!

SEO

The Norwegian Data Protection Authority announces new rules for the transfer of personal data.

Most Gasta customers have the Google Analytics tool installed on their website. It is free and provides useful insight into the use of the website.

However, a process has been underway for some time to determine whether the tool may be illegal. The reason for this is that the tool sends data from Europe to the United States, which has previously been a violation of the law on personal data, known as GDPR.

But now we finally have the answer.

New rules for the transfer of personal data from Europe to the US now make it legal to use Google Analytics.

So all our customers (and us!) can breathe a sigh of relief and continue to enjoy the benefits of the tool. However, it is worth noting that it is not excluded that similar cases may arise in the future. We'll keep you posted!
