Need to update your opening hours before the holidays?

Many people search online to find your opening hours. So it's important that it's actually correct - even during the summer holidays.

It's common to assume that the information in the search result is correct, and many people don't take the time to double-check elsewhere.

It doesn't help that you've written on your website that you're closed for the summer. If so, the customer has turned up at your closed doors - because you're on summer vacation.

Here we show you how to manage your opening hours on Google.

Be sure to check that your Facebook page and website also show the correct opening hours.

Google: Control from Google My Business

To change the opening hours displayed in the search result and in the map on Google Maps, you must log in to Google My Business. This is Google's platform for managing business information in search results.

Here you can click "Edit profile" and scroll down to "Opening hours". Here you can enter the regular opening hours as well as special dates (holidays, vacations, etc.).

NB! If you don't have access to Google My Business, you need to take ownership of your business first. If you need help with that, you can contact us.

Facebook: Endrast inside the company page

If you are an administrator on your company's Facebook page, you can go to the page and select "Switch" so that you appear as the page instead of yourself. Select the "About" tab, scroll down to "Basic information" and select the pencil icon next to the opening hours.

Website: Add info to Squarespace

It may be a good idea to add a place on your website if you have special opening hours during the holidays or are closed. This can, for example, be stated as a separate news item or on the contact page or in the footer.

If you need help communicating this in Squarespace, just give us a shout.

Then all that's left to do is sail: Happy summer! ☀️
