Sogndal Folk High School - Reaching a constantly changing target group
Sogndal Folk High School thought they were hitting their target group, but young people have changed. Tiktok and Snapchat weren't enough - it was time to change the way they communicated.
Through insight into the target group and close collaboration, we have worked to develop clearer communication, update the website, catalog, and adapt the content to what today's youth are actually interested in.
The starting point for the work was new insights from the Opinion UNG survey. The report showed that young people today have different priorities and expectations than before – which affects how you should communicate with them.

The starting point before we started the project:
New website, catalog and other marketing
To better reach the target group, we worked with the school to look at both content, structure and communication. The goal was to make it clearer what students actually get out of a year at Sogndal Folk High School. Please read the article we have written: “How to reach young people aged 17-23?” .
In the project we have worked with, among other things:

clearer presentation of courses, electives and academic content
more focus on sustainability and values
better structure of information for applicants
development of a new study catalogue
better overview of how to use the TikTok and Snapchat channels
A website with better insight into everyday life
The result is clearer and more relevant communication aimed at today's youth. The website now provides a better insight into life at school, what is taught and what experiences the students have throughout the year.
Together with an updated study catalog and adjusted communication, the school has gained a better basis for reaching out to new students – with messages that actually answer the question young people ask themselves: Why should I choose this year?
