Megameny in Squarespace 7.1

We see that many of our customers are good at producing content on their websites. They often find that the menu eventually becomes confusing and difficult to navigate for the user. A mega menu can be the solution.

Few things are more frustrating than visiting a website with poor navigation. Complicated menus and poor user-friendliness can be enough to make the user leave the website without having done what they came to do. This is how you lose customers.

Especially for large websites with a lot of content and information, this can be a challenge. But fortunately: In many cases, a mega menu can solve the problem.

What is a megameny?

A mega menu is a type of top menu or navigation menu that can be used on websites. With a mega menu, you can expand the menu to show many choices in a two-dimensional overview. Or in simpler terms: It is a large menu box that shows you all the main and subpages on the website at the same time, so you can easily click on the page you are looking for.

Benefits of megameny:

  • Easier navigation. A better overview of the content makes it easier to find what you're looking for

  • Fewer clicks. You see all the content at once, which can reduce the number of clicks

  • Better for search engines. Can help search engines to understand the structure of the website more easily, thereby laying the foundation for better rankings.

How to get mega menu in Squarespace 7.1?

Megameny is not standard in Squarespace 7.1 either, but can be easily implemented and you should expect around 3-4 hours of coding and design work. Once the mega menu is set up, it is easy for you to change, add or move the content as you wish.

Below you can see some of the different mega menus we have created. Be aware that we can customize a mega menu to a large extent to your design and needs.

Does everyone need megameny?

No, absolutely not! If you have a simple website where the menu is clear and easy to navigate, you don't need a mega menu!

Examples of mega menus:

Argus Remote Systems

Argus Remote Systems wanted an accessible overview of product and technology

Nor Tekstil

Nor Tekstil ended up with a confusing menu,
, which was elegantly solved with a mega menu.

Nasjonalt Villakssenter

On the National Wildlife Center 's website, we have adapted the code to create a mega menu that shows the correct headings and structure

Røldal ski center

At Røldal ski center, we have also used icons in the mega menu
to reinforce focus areas. Photos can also be used.

Maritime Battery Forum

A neat mega menu on Maritime Battery Forum. "Login" and "Become a member" are placed as separate buttons next to the menu button to emphasize them.

Sunnaasstiftelsen

Sunnaasstriftelsen eventually got a messy menu,
which was cleaned up and solved with megameny.
