From A to Z with ViteMeir

The new science center at Kaupanger opened in November. We've had the pleasure of being involved in much of the journey - from the choice of name, logo and visual identity, to websites and the decoration of the building itself.

We're back to 2018, when we talk about namneval and the design of the visual identity. It was developed by a dedicated team from the University of Applied Sciences and Gasta, with Marianne Jevnaker in the lead (former day-to-day manager of ViteMeir).

Many wise heads landed on the name ViteMeir - a playful word that appeals to all ages.

Vitemeir is visible on the road with this colorful car decor.

The climate timeline is one of many illustrations we have created for the room.

Both big and small

Designer Hilde Nes has worked closely with ViteMeir from the start. She has designed everything from the logo itself to the color palette, brochure and foiling. She can tell us about an exciting project where she has been able to express herself creatively.

- "It's a fun customer to work with, as they wanted a playful design, with strong colors and several different elements. And it's been great to be involved every step of the way, from start to a few hours before opening," says Nes, adding:

- They're a great bunch to work with, and I'm impressed by the pace they set in the run-up to the opening. We also had a good collaboration with Robert at A1 Reklame. For example, I was able to design an exhibition, and just a few hours later the exhibition was mounted on the wall!

Website in Squarespace

The website was set up early in the process, with the aim of informing about the development of the center and creating interest in sponsors and partners. After a while, tickets, exhibitions and news were added.

The result was a colorful and informative website, and it has been fun to develop this in parallel with the development of the center.

ViteMeir got new, colorful websites in Squarespace.

Illustration of 4 x 3 meters!

Emma Kenny, illustrator and graphic designer at Gasta, has also worked extensively on the project, especially on the illustration "Geowall". This is a gigantic illustration, with many details - mounted on sliding glass doors.

- It has been one of the most demanding and exciting illustrations I have made, as it is very detailed and must be professionally correct. It's a lot of fun to unfold in this way. And it was great to see the illustration on the big wall, which is 4x3 meters," says Kenny.

The geo wall is mounted on a sliding glass door and measures a total of 4 x 3 meters!

Thank you to ViteMeir for a great collaboration so far! We look forward to continuing our work with you in the future.
