Cares acquisition resulted in new website

Gasta has developed the new website for Cares, which is a "merger" of two websites, together with the communications agency Gjete.

When Cares acquired Sodexo Norway, an exciting challenge arose: How to get the best from two different companies and combine it into one brand?

Sodexo Norway is known for its large customers and extensive facility management services. Cares, on the other hand, has built a strong position within cleaning and canteen services for smaller and medium-sized customers. With over 40 years of history, Sodexo represented something a little different from the founding company Cares, which started in 2013.

Now these stories would be gathered into one brand – and on one website, developed by Gasta .

Thorough preparation

Emilie Brynjulfsen has been the project manager.

We started the work in March by inviting Cares, the content agency Gjete and us to a workshop. The goal was not just to talk about design and technology, but about identity: Who is the new business? How will Cares 2.0 communicate digitally?

Through the process, a clear picture emerged of a company that combines proximity and a good service culture with the capacity and breadth of a larger player.

– We had to work a lot on shaping the communication on the website. We challenged both the former Sodexo and the new Cares management to make some choices. Not everyone can be the target group. You have to decide who you want to reach first and foremost, and build a website that speaks to them, says Emilie Brynjulfsen, project manager at Gasta .

– We believe we have succeeded well. The website primarily speaks to those who want a comprehensive facility management service, but at the same time we have not forgotten those customers who only need cleaning and/or cafeteria operations.

From strategy to launch

In just a few months, the project went from strategy and content work to a finished website. The result is a digital platform that showcases the breadth of services, while maintaining the human touch that has characterized Cares.

– We had a clear deadline because the merger was to take effect. At the same time, we know that a website is never completely finished. Cares will continue to develop the content with more stories, more information and new images over time. The result has been very good, and there are many who have contributed to making this a successful project, says Brynjulfsen.

For us, this has been an exciting collaboration between Cares, Gjete and Gasta – and a good example of how a website can become an important part of the work of bringing two companies together into a common story.
