From iChatten to HKS Oslo: Rebranding and new website
HKS Oslo, the Health Centre for Gender and Sexuality, has had an exciting journey. From an under-communicated chat solution to a clear and proud knowledge portal with a new identity.
HKS Oslo started with a desire to improve ichatten.no, a chat service for young people and adults who want to talk about gender identity and sexuality with professionals. But what started as a simple website expansion grew into a rebranding with a new name and domain. There was a need for a stronger Oslo identity and a new structure on the website, in line with the profile of the Oslo municipality.
– We started with a simple chat page when we contacted Gasta But then the website began to grow, faster and more comprehensively than we had imagined, says Cecilie Nordfeldt, special consultant at HKS Oslo.
“What do we want to say, and to whom?”
Through a good process, HKS Oslo and Gasta explore who HKS actually is, and how this can best be communicated digitally. Astri contributed to the work on the branding process and identity, while developer Simon was given responsibility for the design and structure of the new website.
– Gasta contributed with good suggestions and help to clarify and clarify our profile. They were quick and structured, and challenged us to think through the basics: What do we want to say, and to whom? It helped us become more aware of who we are and how we want to communicate, says Nordfeldt.
New online solution, more knowledge
The new website now consists of both chat and a knowledge portal that is tightly integrated and easy to share from. The name and design have been modernized in line with the visual profile of the Municipality of Oslo, but without losing the warmth and security for which the service is known.
– We are very proud of the result. It is much easier to share information from the pages now, and we have already received great feedback from users and colleagues in the field. We take the fact that the leader of the Patient Organization for Gender Incongruence ( PKI Norway ) praised both the pages and the process as a good sign, she says.
